ANZ1 provide monthly survey updates of the fundamentals on job advertisements in Australia, the sexy statistics if you will. The most recent survey results for April show a slight slump in job advertisements compared to March – a fall of 0.8% to 153,873. However, don’t let this deflate you as it is still higher than in April 2015. Online job ads took a bit of beating, a 0.7% slide to 151,481, but it was newspapers who suffered the brunt of the blow with a whopping 6.2% fewer job advertisements compared to the previous month.
Logically speaking, fewer job ads mean more applicants and tougher competition per job role. This is why it is more necessary now than ever to stand out from the crowd, and beat the others to the post. Your dream job is attainable, it’s waiting for you.
